For Patients · Insurance Questions

Insurance, answered before you ask.

Dental insurance is genuinely confusing, and untangling it is our job — not yours. We handle the checking and the paperwork.

How insurance works here

The plans we're in-network with

We are in-network with PPO plans from Aetna, Cigna, and Delta Dental, though what each covers still varies by the policy your employer chose. Other plans, such as HMO/DHMO or Medicare Advantage, may be out of network — call us with the name on your card and we'll check.

If we're not in your network

You are welcome here either way: we see out-of-network PPO patients, and we verify their benefits and file their claims the same way. Out-of-network benefits are usually lower, though, and some plans pay nothing out of network, so more of the cost can fall on you.

If that leaves too much on you, the Sora Dental Savings Plan is another option, with no insurance company involved.

Plain-English answers from our team
During office hours your questions go straight to our front desk, not a phone tree. Ask us anything about your plan.

Common questions

Do you take my insurance?
We are in-network with PPO plans from Aetna, Cigna, and Delta Dental. Other plans, such as HMO/DHMO or Medicare Advantage plans, may be out of network — call us with the name on your card and we'll check your benefits before you book.
Will insurance cover my whole treatment?
Honestly, it depends — coverage varies widely by plan and by procedure. That is exactly why we put your estimate in writing before treatment begins.
What if my plan denies something?
We help you understand why it happened and what your options are from there. We can't promise a denial will change, but you won't face it alone.
What if I don't have insurance?
The Sora Dental Savings Plan covers your preventive care for one monthly fee, and monthly payment plans through Cherry or CareCredit can help with larger treatment. Neither involves an insurance company.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit and debit cards, HSA and FSA cards, checks, and cash. Whether a particular treatment is HSA- or FSA-eligible is your plan administrator's call rather than ours — cosmetic work often is not. We'll confirm your options when we go over your estimate.

From your card to your claim

Four small steps, and we do three of them.

STEP 01

Call us with your plan name

Tell us your plan name and we'll take it from there. No hold music, no phone tree.

STEP 02

We verify your benefits

Before your visit, we confirm with your plan what your coverage looks like at our office, including whether the plan pays us or you.

STEP 03

A written estimate, before treatment

You see the numbers in writing before anything begins, and we walk you through any line that is unclear.

STEP 04
