Urgent · Emergency Dental Care

In pain? Call us. We'll take it from there.

Call (973) 808-4373 and we'll offer a same-day appointment whenever possible. Our first job is getting you comfortable — our second is telling you the truth about what happened.

Trouble breathing, a head injury, or bleeding that won't stop? Call 911.
Dental emergency when we're closed? Call and leave a voicemail — it alerts Dr. Oh, who will call you back as soon as he can.

What counts as an emergency

If you're asking the question, it's worth a call. We'll help you tell the difference before you ever get in the car.

Severe or persistent tooth pain, a broken or cracked tooth, a knocked-out tooth, swelling in your gums or face, a lost crown or filling — all deserve prompt attention. Some can wait a day; some cannot.

When minutes matter

When should I go to the emergency room instead of calling us?
Call 911 or go to the ER first for trouble breathing or swallowing, swelling spreading toward your eye or throat, bleeding that won't stop with firm pressure, or a head injury, loss of consciousness or possible broken jaw.
When is swelling a dental emergency?
Swelling that spreads toward your eye or throat, or arrives with fever, can signal an infection that shouldn't wait.
A tooth was knocked out — how long do I have to save it?
A knocked-out adult tooth has the best chance of being saved within the first hour.
How should I keep a knocked-out tooth until I get there?
If it's an adult tooth and it's clean, gently put it back in the socket and bite on gauze. If you can't, keep it in milk (or in an older child's or adult's cheek), don't scrub the root, and call now. Don't replant a baby tooth.

What your visit looks like

The visit is about you, not a sales conversation. We relieve the pain, find the actual cause, and explain your options in plain language.

You leave with a clear plan: what's urgent, what can wait, and what each path involves. Our goal is that you leave comfortable, too. No pressure to decide anything on the spot.

Same-day whenever possible
Emergencies don't book two weeks out. Call us first and we'll work to see you the same day — and tell you honestly if we can't. We're open Monday and Wednesday 10 AM–8 PM, Tuesday 10 AM–5 PM, and closed Thursday through Sunday.
When we're closed, leave a voicemail
Call and tell us what happened — no hold music, no phone tree. During office hours our team answers and will tell you what to do next. Dental emergency when we're closed? Call and leave a voicemail — it alerts Dr. Oh, who will call you back as soon as he can. If it can't wait for a call back, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911.
Comfort before conversation
Pain relief comes first. Diagnosis and decisions happen once you can think straight again.
Nervous about the dentist?
An urgent visit runs by the same rules as any other here: you can stop, and each step is explained before it happens. How we handle fear.
An honest read
We tell you what's actually wrong, what's urgent, and what isn't. No scare tactics, no treatment you don't need.
Fixed properly, not patched
Once you're comfortable, we plan the lasting repair — a porcelain filling, a crown, or whatever the tooth truly needs.

Your visit, step by step

STEP 01

Call us

Call (973) 808-4373 and tell us what happened. We'll tell you when to come in — same-day whenever possible — and what to do in the meantime.

STEP 02

Be seen, be comfortable

You're brought back promptly, numbed if needed, and made as comfortable as we can before anything else happens.

STEP 03

An honest diagnosis

We find the real cause — not just the symptom — and walk you through it in plain language, with photos of what we see.

STEP 04

Fix it properly

Together we choose the lasting repair, whether that's completed the same visit or scheduled once the urgency has passed. You leave with a clear plan.
